If you’re dreaming of a romantic and private Malibu elopement, Brenda and Chris’s wedding day is the perfect inspo. With mesmerizing cliffside views, warm golden light, and the peaceful rhythm of the ocean, their intimate celebration captured everything there is to love about eloping in Southern California.
As a Los Angeles based elopement photographer, these one-of-a-kind days are my absolute favorite to document.
Getting Ready at Hotel June
Brenda and Chris began their elopement day at Hotel June in Malibu. Their morning was slow, sweet, and intentional. They got ready together, helped one another with the final details, and shared a quiet first look right in their room. I had so much fun capturing candids of the couple getting ready together, it felt so easy and low stress.
Instead of rushing or juggling a big wedding party, they centered the day around connection and presence, something I always encourage couples to do for intimate weddings and elopements.
Point Dume Elopement Ceremony Overlooking the Pacific
Their ceremony took place at Point Dume, one of Malibu’s most iconic and secluded elopement locations. With panoramic ocean views and total privacy, they exchanged vows on the cliffs overlooking the water.
I had the honor of serving as their witness, which is always such a special part of being a California elopement photographer.
After their vows, we explored the trails around Point Dume, taking photos as the two soaked in their “just married” glow.
Sunset Portraits at El Matador Beach
Just a short 10-minute drive down the coast, we ended the evening with sunset portraits at El Matador Beach, another breathtaking Malibu elopement location.
The dramatic cliffs, soft sand, and warm golden light were a dream backdrop. Malibu truly delivered one of those sunsets that photographers and couples hope for. I got to shoot some of the most unique portraits of Brenda and her veil billowing in the wind that I am literally obsessed with.
If you’re planning a Southern California elopement, El Matador is a must-consider location.
A 10-Year Love Story
Brenda and Chris have shared more than a decade together and are raising a beautiful 4-year-old daughter (she left the sweetest “I miss you” note in their hotel!!!)
After years of building their life together, they decided it was finally time to make things official. The privacy, intimacy, and natural beauty of a Malibu elopement matched their personalities and their journey perfectly.
After photos, they headed out for a cozy celebratory dinner to end their perfect day <3
