Wendy + Burt decided to elope at the San Diego Courthouse with just their parents, and Wendy’s sister as the witness. It was a true elopement, which I love to shoot. A courthouse wedding with less than ten people feels so sacred to photograph because there are so few of us there to witness, it makes it even more special. Wendy + Burt had been together for 10 years and wanted to just focus on themselves and their wedding day. We took these gorgeous portraits on the cliffs in La Jolla after they went to the courthouse to sign the papers and officially become Mr. and Mrs. The next weekend they had a reception party with family and friends and served traditional Chinese food with boba tea, and a cake made out of Hawaiian rolls, (love). I respect and admire when couples just choose to do their own thing. And that is exactly what this San Diego courthouse elopement felt like.
